Tham Luang Cave National ParkTham Luang Cave National Park closed during rainy season Tham Luang Cave National Park open Travel Tham Luang Cave by public transportation Take a bus (Chiang Rai - Mae Sai) Blue van (50 baht) or green bus line (39 baht) get off the bus at Wat Ban Jong (Chong) - walking distance of 1.5 km. from this point to the entrants of national park, or you may the service of motorcycle taxi (10 baht) From the Emerald Pond to the entrants of Tham Luang Cave approximately 2 km. - there are Rod Songtaew and motorcycle taxi take you there Warning on the return trip - most likely the Blue van filled up with passengers and most likely will not stop to pickup any more passenger, therefore, you will have to take the green bus line, waiting time approximately 30 minutes (under the sun - make sure you have enough of drinking water) *** Alternatively if you have extra hours on hand, why not take a bus further up north to Mae Sai bus terminal then take a bus from the terminal back to Chiang Rai, or walk around Mae Sai before a while before get back to Chiang Rai. There are Blue Van, Green Bus or Rod Song Thaew from Mae Chan, the fare is 15 baht
