In Thailand, the health department reported; from Jan. - Aug. this year there are 1,400 cases 31 had died from this disease. In 2005 there are 2,868 cases 40 death.
Not only mice carry such disease cats, dogs, cows and buffalos also found to carry the disease as well.
The symptom of catching "rok chi noo" start to show in 5-14 days; muscle aches on the legs, head aches, red-eyes, vomiting. Antibiotics were used for cure the disease and must be use with in 4-7 days of the symptom, see a doctor.
Preventive; The virus entry the body through open wound, wear boots when walking on flooded water or mud.

ในประเทศไทย รายงานจากกระทรวงสาธารณะสุข ระหว่าง เดือน มกราคม - สิงหาคม 2549 มีผู้ติดเชื้อ 1,400 ราย เสียชีวิต 31 ราย ในปี 2548 มีผู้ติดเชื้อ 2,868 ราย เสียชีวิต 40 ราย
ไม่เพียงแต่หนู่เท่านั้นที่นำพาเชื้อโรค แต่ แม้ว สุนัข วัวและควาย ก็นำพาเชื้อโรคได้เช่นกัน
อาการของการติดเชื้อโรคฉี่หนู ในระยะ 5 - 14 วัน ปวดกล้ามเนื้อขา ปวดหัว เยื่อตาแดง และอาเจียน ยาปฏิชีวนะใช้ในการบำบัด และต้องเริ่มใช้ภายในระยะ 4-7 วันที่เริ่มมีอาการ และควรพบแพทย์โดยเร็ว
การป้องกัน เชื้อโรคเข้าร่างกายทางบาดแพล ควรสวมรองเท้าบูทในพื้นที่น้ำท่วมขังและพื้นที่โคลน

กระทรวงสาธารณสุขเตือน หนึ่งในโรคระบาดที่มากับภาวะน้ำท่วมคือ โรคฉี่หนู สาธารณสุขพบผู้ป่วยโรคฉี่หนูที่ปัตตานีจำนวนกว่า 10 ราย
ข้อควรระมัดระวังเวลาเดินทางในพื้นที่เปียกชื้นหรือน้ำท่วม ควรสวมรองเท้า หรือรองเท้าบูตป้องกัน |
