the Central Bank tips on how to spot a counterfeited or faked a currency.

The counterfeited currencies currently in circulate are in 100 and 1,000 baht, follow three easy step to check fake currency;

  • Check the water mark of the king image located next to the king image, on the left picture is the legal currency on the right is counterfeited.
  • Check the metal foil pattern (located on the left side of the bill) the legal currency have the metal foil embedded into the paper the counterfeited was just color printed on the bill (right)
  • Counterfeited currency using offset printing technique or scan and print by computer, fell smooth by the tip of finger, on the left is legal currency on the right is a counterfeited.
